TPAAF SAVE SIGHT PROJECT 2020

Dear TPAA colleagues

The majority of blindness is preventable or treatable. As evidenced by millions of people who undergo cataract surgery to cure this major sight robbing disease. The simple act of restoring sight not only enhances productivity but also returns mental and spiritual richness to one’s life. In many parts of the world, including Thailand, too many people with cataract still needlessly suffer from this leading treatable ocular disease.

The Thai Physician Association in America Foundation (TPAAF) is raising fund to support the TPAAF Save Sight Project for the underprivileged population in Uthai Thani Province to eliminate avoidable blindness.

Preliminary Programs:
February 3-4, 2020: Vision test and prescription eyeglasses fitting for school students and villagers in Amphor Baan Rai, an underserved area 85 kilometer from Amphor Mueng, Uthai Thani
February 5-6-7, 2020: At Uthai Thani Hospital, a group of expert eye surgeons will perform approximately 250 cases of cataract surgery.
