Message from TPAA Foundation president_Dr. Apinan Thitipraserth

May 4, 2021

Dear TPAA members, families, and friends,

I hope everyone is doing well and has completely been vaccinated against
COVID-19 pandemic.

We are all aware of the current COVID-19 outbreak affecting our motherland.
Thailand was able to largely control the virus for about a year until the current
spike of cases since early April.

The new outbreak, which includes the highly transmissible B.1.1.7 variant first
detected in Britain, has accounted for more than half of total cases and deaths
since the start of the pandemic. Thailand reported a new daily record of 31
coronavirus deaths on Monday May 3rd, 2021.

The pandemic puts serious strain on Thailand healthcare system. Mass vaccination
campaign will not be in full swing until June. There is a tremendous need for
medical equipment such as High Flow Oxygen capable ventilators. Antiviral
medication Favipiravir is being prescribed to help reduce the risk of worsening and
spreading of the infection. Supplies for hospitals and healthcare providers who are
treating COVID-19 patients are in high demand.

TPAA Foundation Executive Committee has approved $30,000 of Disaster Emergency
Relief Fund to Chaipattana Foundation: Fund to fight COVID-19. Chaipattana
Foundation is the organization that purchases equipment, medications and supplies
and distribute them to the hospitals that take care of COVID-19 patients. Additional
fund will be provided as donation comes in.

Please lend your support by donating to TPAA Foundation DERF: COVID-19. Your
contribution will help care for patients suffering from this pandemic. If you want
your contribution to go to different charity, please so indicate in the enclosed TPAA
Foundation Contribution Form.

Respectfully submitted,
Apinan Thitipraserth, MD
TPAA Foundation President
